The Positron's Z axis uses a belted linear rail system that is critical to the printer's fold-and-deploy mechanism, and this kit contains all the motion hardware required to complete that assembly per the official LDO BOM. If you're building a Positron V3.2 from scratch or replacing worn Z-Drive components, this is the correct parts pack.

The Positron Z-Drive — How It Works

Unlike most 3D printers where Z movement is handled by lead screws, the Positron V3.2 uses a belted Z axis running on a linear rail. This design is central to the printer's ability to fold into a compact package — the Z column releases with a single thumbscrew and the belt tension releases via a dedicated lever, allowing the printer to collapse to its travel dimensions. The Z-Drive motion parts kit provides the hardware that makes this mechanism possible: the pulleys, bearings, belt hardware, and rail components that the Z column depends on.
