This is 1.75 meters of 2GT (GT2) timing belt at 3mm width — the correct profile and width for the Positron V3.2's XY and Z belt-driven motion system. If you're building a Positron from scratch, maintaining an existing machine, or replacing a belt after a crash or excessive wear, this is the correct spec to order.

⚠️ Positron V3.2 specific. This belt is not compatible with the original Positron V3.0, which used synchromesh wire instead of GT2 belts. The switch to 3mm 2GT belts was introduced in V3.2 specifically for easier maintenance and sourcing.

3mm Width — Why the Positron Uses a Non-Standard Belt Size

Most desktop 3D printers use 6mm wide 2GT belt. The Positron V3.2 uses 3mm wide 2GT belt — half the width — as a deliberate design decision driven by the printer's extreme compactness and lightweight toolhead requirements. Narrower belt reduces mass on the motion system and fits within the tight geometry of the Positron's folding CoreXY architecture without compromising the 2GT tooth profile, which remains identical to standard GT2. This means the belt engages correctly with standard 2GT pulleys and idlers — just at 3mm width rather than 6mm. Sourcing the wrong width (6mm) is the most common belt replacement mistake on the Positron — this kit has the correct 3mm spec.

Full Replacement Length for XY and Z Axes

The Positron V3.2's motion system is fully belt-driven across all axes: a single continuous belt handles both X and Y movement, and a separate belt drives the Z column — all running on 3mm 2GT profile with LDO linear rails and 20-tooth pulleys. The 1.75-meter length of this kit covers the full belt requirement for a complete replacement of the Positron V3.2 motion system. Some excess length is expected after routing and tensioning — do not pre-cut before verifying final routing.
