Galileo 2 Spare Parts — Planetary Gears, Extruder Gear, Carrier Shaft and Screw Kit for G2E, G2Z and G2ZXL

Official LDO spare parts for the Galileo 2 Extruder (G2E), Galileo 2 Z-Drive (G2Z), and Galileo 2 Z XL (G2ZXL) — designed by JaredC01. Whether you're replacing worn planetary gears after high-cycle use, a damaged carrier shaft, a stripped extruder drive gear, or rebuilding after a crash, this listing covers the individual mechanical components that wear or fail in the G2 gearbox — so you can get back to printing without ordering a full new kit.

Select the part you need from the variant selector above.

⚠️ Replacement motors are sold separately. This listing does not include motors. Use the links below to find the correct motor for your G2 variant:
— G2E motor: LDO-36STH20-1004AHG (9T) NEMA 14
— G2Z motor: LDO-36STH20-1004AHG (9T) NEMA 14
— G2XL motor: LDO-42STH40-1684AC(RSS9T) NEMA 17
⚠️ Galileo 1 parts are not compatible. G2 is a full redesign — no components are shared with the original Galileo 1.

What's Available — Parts by Variant

POM Planetary Gears and Housing 1× ring gear housing + 3× planetary gears — injection-molded POM (polyoxymethylene). The three planet gears are the highest-wear components in the G2 gearbox, directly transmitting load between the 9T sun gear on the motor shaft and the ring gear. POM offers excellent wear resistance, low friction, and dimensional stability for precision gear applications. Replace these if you notice increased backlash, grinding, or visible gear tooth wear after extended high-torque use.
G2 Extruder Gear The primary filament drive gear for the G2E extruder — the large-diameter gear that grips and feeds filament. The G2 uses a larger drive gear than Clockwork 2, which was a deliberate design choice to increase the filament contact surface area and reduce slippage. Replace when you see consistent under-extrusion that isn't resolved by tension adjustment, or visible wear on the filament-contact surface.
G2 Carrier Shaft The planetary carrier shaft that holds the three planet gears in position relative to each other and transmits rotation from the planetary stage to the output. Critical for maintaining proper gear mesh geometry. Replace if you see wobble in the gearbox output or if the shaft is visibly bent or scored after a crash or jam event.
G2 Extruder Screw Kit Hardware kit including heat-set inserts, pin shaft, bearings, and the M3 tension thumbscrew. The complete fastener and bearing set for a full G2E rebuild — useful after a major disassembly, a lost component, or when bearings show roughness or noise that indicates replacement is due.

Why the G2 Gearbox Wears Where It Does

The Galileo 2 uses a 9:1 planetary gearbox — compared to the 5:1 ratio on standard Voron Z drives and the direct-drive approach of Clockwork 2. The 9:1 ratio delivers higher torque multiplication and improved Z resolution, but it also means the planet gears and sun gear are under real mechanical load during every extrusion move. The 9-tooth sun gear design (divisible by 3 planets) ensures even load distribution across all three planetary gears simultaneously — a deliberate engineering decision that significantly reduces wear versus 10T designs where loading is uneven. Even so, in high-cycle print farms, abrasive filament environments, or after a jam that locked the drive mid-print, these are the components that absorb the damage. Having spares on hand means a rebuild takes minutes, not a week waiting for a new kit.

Compatible With

G2E Galileo 2 Extruder — Voron Stealthburner drop-in replacement for Clockwork 2
G2Z Galileo 2 Z-Drive — compact Z drive for Voron V2.4, Micron 120/180
G2ZXL Galileo 2 Z XL — larger Z-drive variant using NEMA 17 motor
G2SA Galileo 2 Standalone — Orbiter 2.0 / Sherpa Mini drop-in (uses G2E parts)
NOT compatible Galileo 1 — no parts are shared between G1 and G2
