The E3D Revo HF HT-A (High Flow, High Temperature, Abrasion-resistant) is E3D's most capable Revo nozzle for demanding engineering materials. It combines three properties that are normally traded off against each other — ultra-high temperature resistance up to 500°C, high-flow internal geometry, and Chromium Nitride abrasion resistance — in the standard Revo RapidChange form factor. Drop-in on any Revo hotend. Tool-free swap. No hot tightening. Grey body with engraved size for instant identification.

Chromium Nitride Coating — The Difference Between HT-A and Standard ObXidian

Most high-performance Revo nozzles — including ObXidian — use a Diamond-Like Carbon (E3DLC) coating. The HT-A uses Chromium Nitride (CrN) instead, which is specifically engineered for sustained operation at temperatures that would degrade DLC coatings. CrN delivers three simultaneous benefits on a single surface treatment: abrasion resistance against fiber-filled and particle-loaded filaments, corrosion resistance for chemically aggressive materials, and non-stick properties that reduce filament build-up on the nozzle tip. The result is a grey-colored nozzle visually distinct from other Revo variants — you won't confuse an HT-A with a brass or ObXidian nozzle at a glance.

Tri-Metal Construction — Hardened Steel Tip, Copper Carrier, Copper Spreader

The HT-A's construction follows the same architecture as ObXidian but optimized for high-temperature use. A hardened steel tip forms the wear surface at the orifice — the point of highest abrasive contact with the filament. Behind it, a copper carrier and copper spreader segment maximize thermal conductivity between the HeaterCore and the tip, ensuring consistent heat delivery at high temperatures where thermal lag becomes a real problem. Copper's thermal conductivity is significantly higher than steel — this tri-layer approach gives you the hardness of steel where it matters and the heat transfer of copper everywhere else.

High-Flow Internal Geometry — Same Form Factor, Higher Throughput

Unlike E3D's legacy high-flow solutions (Volcano, SuperVolcano), which required longer heatblocks and different mounts, the HF HT-A achieves increased volumetric flow by modifying the internal channel geometry — increasing heat-transfer surface area inside the nozzle without changing the external dimensions. Same Revo form factor, same mount, same fan duct, same toolhead clearances. You gain higher flow throughput for fast printing of high-temperature engineering materials with zero hardware reconfiguration.

Six Nozzle Sizes — Including Large Bore for High-Flow Draft and Industrial Applications

Standard Revo nozzle ranges stop at 0.8mm. The HF HT-A extends to 1.0mm, 1.2mm, and 1.4mm — making it the correct choice for draft-quality functional parts at maximum speed, thick-wall structural printing, and industrial-grade composite filaments where large particles require large orifices to prevent jams. The full size range with abrasion resistance and 500°C capability in a single nozzle family covers essentially every high-performance printing use case:

Revo RapidChange — Nozzle + HeatBreak as One Unit, No Hot Tightening Ever

Every Revo nozzle is a pre-assembled nozzle and HeatBreak in a single sealed unit. This design eliminates the fundamental failure mode of conventional hotends: the nozzle-to-heatblock joint that requires hot tightening to seal and inevitably leaks when under-torqued, over-torqued, or thermally cycled repeatedly. With HT-A, you twist it in at room temperature with your fingers — the geometry of the assembly creates the seal, not torque. No leaks. No burns. No failed assemblies. When you need to swap sizes or replace a clogged nozzle, it takes 30 seconds and zero tools.

Rapid Identification — Grey Body, Engraved Size

HT-A nozzles are grey in color, visually distinguishing them from Revo brass (gold), ObXidian (black), and standard HT (also grey but without the HF geometry). Each nozzle has its orifice diameter engraved directly on the body — no color codes, no tiny stamped numbers, no guessing.

When Do You Need This?

The HF HT-A is the correct nozzle when your material requirements exceed what ObXidian can handle — specifically when you need to print above 300°C (PEEK, PEI/ULTEM, high-performance Nylon grades, specialty composites) or when you need nozzle sizes above 0.8mm with abrasion resistance for heavily loaded composite filaments. If you're printing CF-nylon at 280°C and an 0.4mm ObXidian covers your needs, you don't need the HT-A. If you're running PEEK at 400°C or PA-CF through a 1.0mm orifice for structural parts at speed, the HT-A is the only Revo nozzle built for it.
