Recommended Print Settings

Silk PLA prints best at 210–220°C — slightly hotter than standard PLA. The higher temperature helps the silk additive flow smoothly and produce the maximum shine. Print at moderate speed (40–60mm/s) for the glossiest surface. Avoid excessive cooling fan speed on the first few layers; 50–70% fan after layer 3 works well. A heated bed at 55–60°C with a smooth PEI sheet produces a mirror-like bottom surface.

Silk filaments shine brightest on curved surfaces and large flat areas where light can reflect consistently. Highly detailed models with tiny features may lose the silk effect in tight corners.
