Dynalabs PLA 850 Filament 1.75mm — Enhanced Strength PLA with UV Glow Options

The Dynalabs PLA 850 is a step above standard PLA. Based on NatureWorks Ingeo 3D850 resin, this formulation offers higher crystallinity, which translates to better heat resistance and improved mechanical properties compared to basic PLA. At $12.99 per kilogram — the same price as the PLA Basic — it's an exceptional value for makers who want stronger parts without switching to a more difficult material like ABS or PETG.

Available in 10 colors including two UV Glow variants (Green and Orange) that charge under sunlight or UV light and glow in the dark for hours. The standard colors — Black, White, Blue, Red, Bordo, Bronze, Silver Grey, and Turquoise — offer a solid palette for functional and decorative projects alike.

PLA 850 vs. Standard PLA — What's the Difference?

Standard PLA (like our PLA Basic) uses Ingeo 4043D resin, which is optimized for easy printing. PLA 850 uses Ingeo 3D850 resin, which is engineered for higher crystallinity after annealing. This means PLA 850 parts can be heat-treated (annealed at 80–100°C for 30 minutes) to achieve heat deflection temperatures up to 120°C — nearly double that of standard PLA. Even without annealing, PLA 850 is slightly stiffer and more impact-resistant out of the box.

Key Specifications

Material PLA (Ingeo 3D850 based)
Diameter 1.75mm ± 0.03mm
Spool Weight 1kg (2.2 lbs)
Colors Available 10 (including 2 UV Glow)
Nozzle Temperature 195–220°C
Bed Temperature 45–60°C (recommended)
Print Speed 40–100mm/s
Heat Deflection (annealed) Up to 120°C

Recommended Print Settings

Print at 205–215°C for best layer adhesion. Bed at 55–60°C. PLA 850 benefits from slightly higher temperatures than basic PLA due to its higher crystallinity. For annealing, print your part normally, then place it in an oven at 80°C for 30–60 minutes. Parts will shrink ~1–3%, so scale your model up if dimensional accuracy matters.

Pro Tips

The UV Glow variants need exposure to strong light (sunlight or UV lamp) for 5–10 minutes to charge fully. They'll glow for 2–4 hours in complete darkness. For maximum glow intensity, print with 3+ wall layers and high infill — thicker walls absorb and emit more light. These are perfect for cosplay props, night-time decorations, and kids' toys.

Best Applications

Functional parts requiring heat resistance (after annealing), automotive interior clips, kitchen tools, electrical enclosures, cosplay armor, glowing decorations, and any application where standard PLA's low heat resistance is a limitation.
