304 Stainless — Silver or Black Electrophoresis

Both variants use 304 stainless steel as the base material, so neither will rust on your build. The black variant goes through an electrophoresis process that adds a wear-resistant black coating over the stainless — a hard, durable finish that holds up far better than black oxide, which is a surface treatment that provides minimal corrosion resistance and tends to look poor after handling. If you want the clean blacked-out aesthetic without compromising the fasteners underneath, the electrophoresis coating is the correct choice.

Compatibility Note

The M5 and M3 roll-in T-nuts included in this kit are not compatible with Misumi frames — they will not roll in due to the slot geometry of those extrusions. You may experience similar fitment issues with LDO frames. If you are building on a Misumi or LDO frame, plan your T-nut sourcing accordingly.
