The Rook MK1 is a compact CoreXY 3D printer kit designed by Rolohaun — a community builder who created the Rook as a fun, satisfying build that produces a genuinely capable machine. At 110×110×110mm build volume in a 220×275×370mm footprint, it's small, fast for its size, and built with quality components: LDO motors, LDO linear rails, a Triangle Lab TR6 ceramic hotend, Trianglelab DDB extruder, BTT Manta M4P mainboard with BTT CB1, and Klipper firmware. Every purchase directly supports Rolohaun and future community projects.

Note: Printed parts are not included in the default kit. You can purchase them separately from West3D, print your own from the Printables page, or find community mods by Gulsifer and others.

Why the Rook MK1?

The Rook MK1 exists because building a 3D printer should be as enjoyable as using one. It's a weekend project with a clear build guide, an active community on GitHub and Printables, and a component selection that reflects genuine quality rather than cost-cutting. LDO motors and rails instead of generic equivalents. A ceramic-core hotend instead of a standard block. A BTT Manta M4P with CB1 running Klipper instead of a locked-down proprietary board. The result is a small machine that's easy to understand, easy to modify, and produces clean prints with PLA and PETG right out of the build.
