The E3D High Flow HTA HotEnd is the only officially approved aftermarket hotend for the Bambu Lab X1E, developed in direct collaboration with Bambu Lab. It delivers 60% more volumetric flow than the stock X1E hotend, adds Chromium Nitride abrasion and corrosion resistance up to 320°C, and installs in under 5 minutes as a true drop-in replacement — no mount changes, no part cooling adjustments, no compromises.

60% More Volumetric Flow

The X1E's motion system has more headroom than the stock hotend allows. E3D's internal nozzle modification increases volumetric flow rate by 60%, so you can either push higher print speeds without under-extrusion, or raise the volumetric flow limit in your slicer to fully unlock what the motion system can do. Either way, the bottleneck moves somewhere else.

Chromium Nitride HTA Coating — Up to 320°C

Unlike the standard ObXidian (E3DLC coating), this X1E variant uses a Chromium Nitride coating specifically chosen for high-temperature abrasion resistance and corrosion prevention up to 320°C. This makes it the right tool for engineering-grade materials like PPA-CF and PPS-CF that demand both extreme temperatures and nozzle durability. At the same time, the coating improves interlayer adhesion at high speeds — so parts are not just faster, they're also stronger.

Important Notes

  • Nozzle size and particle size: Some filled materials contain particles close to or larger than 0.4mm. Printing these through a 0.4mm nozzle significantly increases the risk of a jam. Always check your filament manufacturer's datasheet for the recommended minimum nozzle orifice diameter before printing.
  • Extreme engineering filaments: The HTA coating provides exceptional wear resistance, but some aggressive fillers — including Polymaker's PolyMide range (PA612-CF, PA6-CF, PA6-GF, PA12-CF) — can cause measurable wear even on coated nozzles. E3D is actively developing solutions for these materials. Plan accordingly for prolonged use with the most demanding filaments.
