3D-Fuel Silk PLA+ Filament — Silky Lagoon Dual-Color Blue & Green, 1.75mm, Color-Shifting Silk Finish, NatureWorks Ingeo 4043D, Bambu AMS Compatible, Made in USA

3D-Fuel Silk PLA+ in Silky Lagoon is a dual-color silk filament that splits blue and green across the filament's cross-section — one half blue, one half green. As your print builds layer by layer and rotates in orientation, both colors appear across the surface simultaneously, shifting and blending depending on the viewing angle. The result is a high-gloss, color-shifting finish that no single-color filament can replicate, with none of the post-processing — straight off the print bed.

Color shifts as you rotate the print — the blue and green split runs the length of the filament, so the color distribution changes naturally with geometry and layer direction.
⚠️ Silk PLA+ is not as mechanically tough as Standard PLA+. It is significantly more durable than competing silk PLAs, but for structural or load-bearing parts, use Standard PLA+ or Tough Pro PLA+ instead.
Bambu AMS and AMS Lite compatible. Spool dimensions fit both systems. Use the Generic Silk PLA profile in Bambu Studio.

Dual-Color Construction — Blue and Green in Every Strand

Silky Lagoon is not a color-blend or gradient filament — it is a true dual-color construction where the blue and green materials are co-extruded side by side within a single 1.75mm strand. This means the color split is present at every point along the spool, and the way each color appears on the finished print is determined by your model's geometry, layer orientation, and how the filament feeds through the hotend. Vase mode prints, curved surfaces, and tall vertical forms tend to show the most dramatic color transitions. No painting, no post-processing, no multi-material setup required — the effect is built into the filament.

Silk Finish With Better Layer Adhesion Than Competing Silk PLAs

Silk PLAs are known for their high-gloss, almost metallic surface finish — but most sacrifice inter-layer adhesion to achieve it, resulting in brittle prints that delaminate under light mechanical stress. 3D-Fuel Silk PLA+ uses NatureWorks Ingeo 4043D as its base resin — the same virgin, USA-manufactured PLA polymer used in the 3D-Fuel Standard PLA+ — which gives it meaningfully better layer-to-layer adhesion and durability than silk filaments built on lower-grade base resins. You get the visual finish of silk without giving up the structural integrity that makes a print usable rather than just displayable.

Ideal for Multi-Color AMS Printing

Silk PLA+ loads and runs cleanly in the Bambu Lab AMS and AMS Lite. The consistent diameter — controlled by a multi-axis laser measurement system during production — means stable feeding through AMS lane motors without the filament slippage or extrusion inconsistency that off-spec silk filaments can cause in automated systems. For multi-color setups, mixing Silky Lagoon with other 3D-Fuel Silk PLA+ colors or Standard PLA+ colors on separate lanes gives you fine-grained control over where the silk finish appears versus matte regions on the same print.

Who Is This For?

Silk PLA+ Silky Lagoon is the right filament for decorative and display prints where surface finish is the primary goal — vases, figurines, busts, jewelry, cosplay accessories, awards, and architectural models where the color-shifting blue-green finish adds visual depth that painted or single-color prints cannot match. It also works well as an accent color in multi-material AMS prints, adding a silk highlight lane alongside matte colors on the same model. If you need the silk look for a part that also takes mechanical load, pair it with Standard PLA+ or Tough Pro PLA+ for the structural sections.
