Water washable resin is one of the most beginner-friendly innovations in resin 3D printing. Unlike standard photopolymer resins that require isopropyl alcohol (IPA) for post-processing, water washable resin cleans up with plain tap water — making the entire workflow safer, cheaper, and more accessible. No IPA storage, no chemical disposal concerns, no strong solvent odors during washing.

Water washable resins are available in a wide range of colors and formulations, from standard detail resins to ABS-like varieties. They cure under the same 405nm UV light as standard resins and are fully compatible with all MSLA and SLA printers including Elegoo Mars, Phrozen Sonic, Anycubic Mono, and Creality Halot series.

Water Washable vs Standard Resin

Water washable resin trades some mechanical strength for convenience — it tends to be slightly more brittle than standard resin after curing. For decorative pieces, miniatures, and display models this is rarely an issue. For functional parts requiring impact resistance, consider our Engineering Resins or Tough Resin instead.
