ABS FILAMENT

ABS Filament for Heat-Resistant 3D Prints

ABS filament is a proven material for 3D printing applications that require heat resistance, toughness, and the ability to be post-processed with acetone smoothing. It has been a staple in manufacturing and prototyping for decades, and it remains the preferred choice when parts will be exposed to higher temperatures or repeated mechanical stress.

Our ABS collection features options from both IIID MAX and Fremover, printing at 220–250°C with a heated bed at 90–110°C. For best results, an enclosed printer is recommended to minimize warping caused by temperature fluctuations during printing. When your environment is stable, ABS produces strong, durable parts with a smooth finish.

ABS is ideal for automotive components, electronic housings, tool handles, and any part that sits near heat sources. It can also be vapor-smoothed with acetone for a glossy, injection-molded appearance — a finishing technique not possible with PLA or PETG.

If you need durability without an enclosure, PETG filament is a great alternative. For easy everyday printing, PLA filament is the simplest option. Compare all materials in our 3D Printing Filaments guide.
